ANC is like that jolly family uncle who comes home every major holidays in Good Fridays and Christmas to celebrate with the entire family. He comes home with new cloth, car, beautiful wife but not legally married, sweets and bottles of gins and whiskeys but somehow half full. Yes, he is our uncle but we all don't know where he works. He uses our communal room for himself with his wife and we don't complain about that as long as we know he will leave us to miss him after January 8 Statement.
That's how Makome Kingdom relates with Uncle ANC. He has grown too old at 108 years and we are getting worried that he may lose his jolly and charismatic attitude. His tooth don't give us a beautiful smile anymore. His promises to buy us bicycles in the next Christmas have become ordinary because we can't see too much of those sweets and half full bottles of alcohol. He borrows too much and sometimes for unnecessary use.
We have no choice either than to continue to live with him. We share strong bond as we share every stroke of the blood with him. We have one gogo (Government) who takes care of all of us. He (ANC) is our elder and his voice is bigger than ours hence we will leave with him until he is too old to live. Its is not in our culture that we can wish him dead. We have no reason to do so. Not at all even if he makes us sleep in the passage or eat morogo (vegetables) when he is served with best cuts of family slaughtered chicken. He always tell a good story especially when he found new girlfriend or job. That's is enough to give him special love.
We wish him (ANC) the best in 2020 not because we trust he will surprise us. We do so because we know we are related in blood. We (Makome kingdom) will also assist him to build more rooms for the whole family, we will produce food for everyone to feast in the family (South Africa), and do other things including establishing Black Bank which will be owned by family members ONLY. Such are part of submissions we made to him since he got his 1st job in 1994 although we didn't know who is his real employer until today.
In his Birth Day party prepared to be hosted in Kimberly, Northern Cape this coming weeekend we are happy that through parliament, ANC has already initiated to amend laws that created problems for all of us as a family. We thank our young and educated cousin EFF for working hard to assist our Big Uncle. We are happy that at least Section 25 of the Constitution will be amended in the near future. We are also happy that soon the Banking Acts will be amended to allow South African Government to establish Retail Bank. We are worried that NHI looks like it will only benefit grandchildren who are still living in our grand grand mother's (Government employees) compound. Some of us who left the house may not benefit but we will enjoy it because we know it's meant for us.
Those of you who will be joining the Birth Day party in Kimberly especially all of you who are living in our grand grand mother's house must refrain from abusing our heritage. Don't plan official trips to Kimberly in the name of service delivery when you know you are going to drink and further embarrass our Uncle. We are grown up now. We know all of you cousins by your names. Not that we are saying you should't do your work but we are saying don't abuse your close proximity to gogo's depleted wealth.
Many people have lost jobs in 2019 and started 2020 with dark cloud hanging over them. We are certainly starting 2020 in a back foot with Eskom load shedding again. So don't make it worse. As you celebrate, don't drink and drive. Don't abuse young children (girls) who are as young as your grand grand children. Pledge to serve people with pride. All what you think is yours in Government is ours. Just understand that principle otherwise we will kick you out of our gogo's house. We hope your ears still have senses.
This year will not be easy going for you. Most of your uneducated children will be arrested. They will kills each other for survival but you can only blame yourself. You will lose many friends and even us (Makome Kingdom) will continue to dislike you because of your old ways and possibly because of your wasted age. At your age, you must have helped many of your children to provide for themselves for you to be liked by everyone. Unfortunately, you only helped children from next door and not us in the family hence we can't defend you with absolute conviction.
With these few words, we wish you all the best this coming weekend and the whole year.
